For this week’s topic I thought it would be interesting explore what women want. Though I have some experience, I was totally clueless about what women really want. I thought I knew, but it turns out I was wrong. Research through questioning all my friends and colleagues has turned up interesting information about what women want. It seems that is no universal answer. Not a big surprise, since women change their minds often. Could it be love? Some say that it’s the
most important… but then there’s money and power… Do women want a ‘real’ man- one who is strong, powerful, confident, and controlling? Or do women want a feminized man- one less confident, more caring, understanding, and gentle? Is there no happy medium?
Well, it takes all kinds. Some women might be happy with a control freak for a mate, but others wouldn’t stand for it.
Women want their man to be everything from understanding, to intelligent, to gentle, to loving, to great in bed, and on and on. If you can think of it (and it’s a positive trait), women want that in their man. Our discussion also focused on the less obvious characteristic of smell. One of the most powerful deciders for success in a couple is liking each other’s scent. Women and men are very choosy about how the other person smells, whether it’s conscious or not. There’s even a genetic basis for this- women are attracted to healthier men, which their noses are able to ‘sniff
’ out.
Men seem to be much easier to understand. For men, it pretty much all comes back to sex- or food. Men really do only have a one-track mind. In my interviewing and discussions of what men want, inevitably, the one thing they all settle on is sex. As I have always proclaimed, men are almost always thinking of either of two things- sex or food- period.
