*Find bonding moments.
When a colleague mentions that she does yoga, which you love, tell her. “We relate quickly with people when we have common ground,” explains Boothman.

Ask follow-up questions after a coworker finishes talking. “It shows you’re interested,” notes Boothman.

*Drop a compliment.
Mention to your boss that you like the new ad campaign she came up with. “Genuine flattery goes a long way,” says Boothman.
