Welcome back! Week two of the Modern Topics class focused on dating and relationships. Have you ever heard of a ‘red flag’ in a relationship? A red flag is an uncomfortable feeling you have or a problem in your relationship. What does it mean if your guy will do whatever his mother asks him, or his mother does everything for him? We call this kind of guy a ‘mama’s boy’- be careful of this type- he will put anything about his mother before you!! Your relationship will always come second.
Another red flag we discussed was the fact that if your guy never invites you to his place, you should also be very, very wary! Maybe he has another girlfriend, or even a family! Maybe he is just very messy and doesn’t want you to know, but anyway, it’s another red flag.
Another two dangers we discussed were the kind of guy who bad-mouths his ex and the kind just out of a relationship- especially if he was dumped by his girl. This kind of relationship is called a ‘rebound’. The guy is just looking for a little distraction from his pain, a little company, and a little physical comfort!
Dating is one of those difficult pains of life, and if you are happy, then you are lucky! If you aren’t, maybe it’s time to rethink your situation! Be on the lookout for those red flags that tell you deep inside that something just isn’t right. Trust your instincts!
